Your feedback drives our product. We've enhanced Chartering with new features that streamline your workflows, because simplicity at speed is our standard.
This guide walks you through the latest updates: smarter view options in the tonnage list, new filters to uncover ownership layers, and improved control over open position management.
New split panels in tonnage list
We’ve redesigned the tonnage list to give you everything in one place, no more jumping between tabs or separate windows.
You now get:
Split-screen interface with your ship list and map side by side : eliminating the need to toggle between separate windows.
Enhanced map visualization: Select any vessel on the map to instantly see:
Current voyage trajectory
Next route to the upcoming destination leveraging our destination forecast algorithm
Streamlined vessel information: When you select a vessel from the list, a new panel appears at the bottom with three tabs:
Vessel Details – Full technical specifications
Vessel Positions – Real-time and historical location data
Fixtures – Complete commercial fixture history
The result: All the information you need is now in one integrated view. No more opening multiple pages or switching between workspaces to piece together a vessel's story. All technical and commercial details are accessible in one consolidated view, keeping your workflow uninterrupted.
Enhanced ownership filtering + your market intelligence
We've integrated Kpler's 6-layer ownership structure directly into the Chartering product, giving you instant visibility into the full ownership and management chain for any vessel.
The six ownership layers now available:
Beneficial Owner
Registered Owner
Technical Manager
ISM Manager
Third-Party Operator
Commercial Manager
Filter by any of these roles to understand who's really behind a vessel. Read more about the structure here → Kpler Help Center Article
Commercial Operator filter: your competitive edge
We have introduced an editable Commercial Operator filter. As market conditions shift and you gather the latest intelligence, update this field with your own data. All edits remain private to your organization and are never shared with other users. This means you get:
Maximum reactivity – Integrate your proprietary market insights in real-time
Flexible filtering – Search using your updated operator data or Kpler's 6-layer structure
The best of both worlds – Your ground-level market knowledge combined with Kpler's verified ownership data
Private intelligence - Your edits stay within your organization and are never shared with other chartering users, protecting your competitive edge
Why it matters: You no longer have to choose between Kpler's comprehensive ownership data and your own market intelligence. Layer them together to filter, assess, and act faster than the competition.
Open Position Editor: streamlined Interface & integrated ETA lookup
We've completely redesigned the open position editor based on your feedback, making it more intuitive, reactive, and tightly connected to the live market.
The new interface is more intuitive and built for market reactivity. You can edit positions and calculate ETAs without switching tabs or slowing down.
What’s new:
Auto-populated vessel data: Select a vessel and watch technical and commercial details auto-fill instantly. No more manual data entry or cross-referencing, everything you need loads automatically.
Keyboard navigation: Enter all your positions using only your keyboard, no need to click between fields. Smart date entry recognition enables fast input of fresh market data.
Integrated map view: See your position geographically as you edit, giving you spatial context without leaving the editor.
Quick ETA lookup: Compare arrival times on the fly with our integrated voyage calculator. Get instant ETA estimates without opening new tools or disrupting your workflow.
Two core use cases:
Manual position editing: Update pushed positions with speed and precision as market conditions shift.
ETA comparison: Use the built-in quick lookup to assess port-to-port timings instantly and compare routing options, all within the editor.
Why it matters: React to market changes in real-time. Whether you're adjusting positions or evaluating voyage options, everything happens in one place with fewer steps and faster results.
