We have released a set of new functionalities on our availability endpoints, along with an update to our Kpler availability model for France nuclear.
New availability functionalities
We have added several ways to tailor availability data to your specific use case, across our availability by unit and by fuel type endpoints:
Filter by outage type: retrieve availability driven by planned outages, unplanned outages, or both, using the
availabilityTypeparameter. Available on both endpoints.Query at any granularity: from 15-minute to yearly. Available on both endpoints.
Choose your aggregation level: get availability computed bottom-up (summing tracked units) or top-down (at fuel type level), using the
aggregationparameter. Available on the fuel type endpoint only; see our help article for more on this distinction.Decouple provider mapping from correction: the
methodologyparameter lets you keep our outage provider mapping while choosing whether the Kpler correction is applied on top, viamethodology=kplerormethodology=raw. Available on the fuel type endpoint only.
France nuclear - Kpler availability model update
Live from tomorrow, Wednesday, 2 September, we have recalibrated our availability model specifically for France nuclear, giving even greater weight to outages reported since 2025, following the change in EDF's reporting that we have observed since then. As a result, Kpler availability for France nuclear is slightly higher going forward.
The chart below compares the current and updated model, along with the raw availability (calculated with EDF's outages only):
