We’ve introduced a new map filter that gives you greater control over how vessel positions are displayed in areas affected by AIS interference.
What's new
You can now choose whether to display Low Confidence AIS positions: signals that may be impacted by spoofing or GNSS interference.
When the filter is off (default), low confidence positions are removed from the map
When the filter is on, the map will display all available positions, including those flagged as low confidence
This allows you to decide whether to prioritise positional accuracy or recency, depending on your analysis needs.
Visual indicators
To help you interpret these positions on the map:
Vessel icons: A dark icon when the terminal is in light mode or a white icon when the terminal is in dark mode indicates the vessel's current position is low confidence
Vessel tracks: Dark/white tracks highlight segments where historical positions are low confidence.
These indicators apply regardless of vessel status (laden or ballast).
Where this applies
Low Confidence classification is currently available in:
Middle East Gulf
Black Sea
This reflects known areas of GNSS interference and potential spoofing activity.
Why this matters
This update provides more transparency and flexibility when analysing vessel movements in complex and disrupted signal environments. This allows you to incorporate or exclude uncertain data based on your use case.
You can access this filter directly in the map settings.
