You can easily export the data related to vessels and ports that interest you by using the Left Pane toolbar of the Live Map. Just follow these simple steps:
Select the Data You Want to Export
You can use the Top bar to quickly change between several available options for the category you have selected. Keep in mind that more options will be added regularly, so make sure to always check back.
Note: You can click on the i button in the top right corner to get more information about every different option you select.
Apply Filters to Refine Your View
Before exporting, you can filter the data to narrow down your results:
Click “Add Filter” and choose from the available options.
Combine multiple filters if needed—each filter will appear in a separate box.
Remove filters by clicking the “X” next to each box.
The results table will update based on your selected filters and be sorted by popularity by default.
Columns in the table can be rearranged by dragging and dropping.
Exporting your data
Once you're satisfied with your selection:
Click on “Export All Data” (top-right corner) to view all available rows. Note that on the browser, it will display up to 500 rows. However, even if the data set is larger, all rows will be exported. All data exports are in CSV format.
To export specific results:
Use the checkboxes to select individual rows (selected rows will turn grey).
Click “Export Selected Data” at the bottom of the panel.
How can I keep a data export filter saved?
Once the export is complete, the file will be saved under My Account → My Data export , where you can view your exported files or preserve the data export filter for future use.
Your exported data will be in CSV format, and you'll be able to:See export details (date, status, type, and number of records).
Use the “Adjacent” button to download the file.
Use the “Magnifier” button to return to the original dataset and reopen the filters you previously applied.
How much Data can I export?
The number of records you can export depends on your plan.
Basic Plan: You can export up to 5 records per month.
Essential Plan: You can export up to 300 records per month.
Enterprise Plan: You can export up to 10000 records per month.
Important Notes regarding custom areas
Custom Areas cannot be exported.
However, you can import custom areas to use in the interface. See how to create and how to import a custom area here: Create a Custom Area | MarineTraffic
Once you have created a new custom area, it may take from some minutes to hours for the system to populate the data. Then, you will be able to export data related to your area, such as vessels in the area.
Automatic Data Export Allowance Renewal
Data export credits automatically refresh each month on the day you created your account.
For example, if you created your account on 15 March; your data export allowance will renew automatically on 15 May.
Please note that:
Unused data export allowances do not carry over to the next month.
No manual action is required to access your credits.
How much data export allowance do I have left this month?
You will be able to view the available data export allowance each time you attempt to export data.
It will display your remaining allowance as well as the amount required for the export before you proceed, as shown in the screenshot below.
