API and Excel add-in users interested in viewing both onshore and offshore (oil on water) data can do so in one single query / function.

Excel add-in

  • on the Kpler ribbon, select Inventories. Select 'add Oil-On-Water' and split the data by onshore / offshore status as per the image below.

  • You can optionally change the minimum and maximum floating days criteria.

API

  • set 'addCommoditiesOnWater' parameter to true and adjust the floating storage as per the API instructions.

Offshore data explanation

Among other columns related to onshore crude inventories, the output will also include these 2 columns for offshore inventories:

  • Floating Storage Level (kb) : returns the crude oil currently floating in vessels for the selected zone. More information on floating storage can be found here.

  • Oil in Transit on Ships Level (kb): returns all crude oil which is currently in transit.

Notes

  • Note that Oil on water = floating storage + oil in transit.

  • This is an optional parameter and it's disabled by default both on the API and Excel add-in.

  • This option is only available to cargo tracking users with access to floating storage and oil on water. For access please reach out to your account manager or email us at sales@kpler.com.

  • There might be a small difference between the data returned using this function and 'fleet metrics' functions due to a 1-2 hour delay to fetch the data.
