26 October 2026 - GNSS interference, Casualties & incidents for risk & compliance

Written by Charles Bozik

Hi [First name],

We are pleased to share that we have just added two major new features for Risk & Compliance:

  • Casualties & Incidents events

  • New operational risk type - GNSS Interference

Now screenings can be further enhanced to detect more anomalies and operational, safety and security risks.

Casualties and incidents events - what's included:

  • Event overview: UTC timestamp, severity (Very Serious, Serious, Less Serious, Marine Incident), report status (Preliminary, Interim, Final), coordinates and location description, pollution status (when available).

  • Vessels involved: all vessels in multi-ship incidents with IMO and role (e.g. struck vessel). Right now, only vessels with an IMO number are listed.

  • Vessel impact: damage severity (None, Minor, Severe), operational status (Afloat - Operational, Afloat - Damaged, Aground, Sunk, Capsized), total loss status (Actual or Constructive Total Loss).

  • Human and environmental impact: verified fatalities, injuries and missing persons.

  • Root cause and contributing factors: e.g. shipboard operations, equipment failure, human error.

  • Provenance: links to the original reports.

How to access casualties and incidents data:

  1. Click on the compliance workspace

  2. In the upper right, under Risk Type, you can now select a new type called ‘Casualties & incidents’

  3. This data is also available through the map, when selecting a vessel under Compliance - it can be viewed by scrolling down, as a new risk type under Flag risks.

GNSS Interference risk data - what’s included:

  • New operational risk type: GNSS Interference

  • Risk date and time

  • Risk zone name

  • Workspace filter for GNSS interference

How to access GNSS interference data:

  1. Go to the Compliance workspace

  2. In the upper right, under Risk Type, select Operational Risks

  3. Under Operational Risks select GNSS interference to filter to vessels with this data. It is important to check your historical timeframe as well, as this populate whatever vessels have had GNSS interference in your selected timeframe.

  4. You can also view this data through the map, when selecting a vessel, as a new operational risk type.

What you can do

  • Screen vessels for incident history or GNSS interference using the compliance workspace.

    • You can now filter by new risk types - Casualties & Incidents + GNSS interference.

  • Generate audit-ready exports

    • The Casualties & Incidents and GNSS Interference are included in the Vessel Compliance Screening PDF, so incident evidence sits alongside your sanctions and AIS risk findings.

  • Access via API

    • The vessel-risks-v2 endpoint now returns the full casualtyRisks schema: event types, severity, consequences, coordinates and report URLs. It also includes GNSS interference under operational risks and as gnssInterferences in the same endpoint.

  • Notifications

    • You can set up a notification for Casualties and Incidents by selecting the “incidents” event via My account -> notification settings. Soon we’ll enable notifications for GNSS Interference.
