Kpler is proud to announce an important update to our Iraq Clean Products (CPP) export data will be released on April 21. Like the Iraqi fuel oil methodology change implemented on February 28, this enhancement will significantly improve the accuracy of our data by addressing a known issue in the region β AIS spoofing. This change will also have a significant impact on historical Iraq Clean Products (CPP) exports from January 2022 onwards.
As you may be aware, AIS manipulation is a common practice in the Arabian Gulf, where vessels often falsify their positions to appear as if they are loading from Iraq when they are, in fact, sourcing Clean Products from Iran. Leveraging new intelligence, we have refined our methodology to better filter out these misreported shipments.
Please note that while we are confident in these enhancements, the proprietary nature of our methodology means we will not be disclosing specific details about the intelligence or sources behind this update.
