We're excited to announce a new, highly requested feature on our platform: Product Estimation for Fuel Oils. This machine learning model enhances your understanding of trade flows by providing an estimate of a specific Grade within the Fuel Oils category when the information isn't directly available. This article guides you on how to use this feature.

Impact of the Product Estimation Feature

The Product Estimation for Fuel Oils feature significantly enhances your analysis of global trade flows. It substantially reduces the number of unclassified Fuel Oils exports, reallocating them to more detailed Grade categories.

To see an example of this feature in action, refer to the screenshots below:

These illustrations show how the feature decreases the unclassified exports and provides more detailed insights at the Grade level.

How to Use the Product Estimation Feature

The Product Estimation feature is conveniently located on the left filters panel of the platform interface. Follow these steps to use it:

  1. Find the toggle for Product Estimation on the left filters panel.

  2. Click the toggle to switch the Product Estimation feature on or off as per your requirement.

  3. Once you've enabled this feature, any trade flows estimated by this model will be marked with an โ€œAIโ€ tag. Additionally, a confidence interval will be displayed next to them, indicating the reliability of the estimate.

Viewing Enhanced Flows & Trades via the API

For users who access our platform through the API, we've also made it possible to view the Flows & Trades data enhanced by this machine learning model. To enable this, set the parameter withProductEstimation = True on your API endpoints.

This new feature, the Product Estimation for Fuel Oils, is part of our ongoing effort to provide you with detailed and accurate insights. We look forward to hearing your feedback and continually improving your experience on our platform.
