Capacity Analytics is a new module inside the European Gas product that lets you analyse cross-border pipeline capacity — how much has been booked, how it compares to what's technically available, and the underlying auction results that drove those bookings. It is made up of two sections: Booked vs TAC and Auctions results.
Booked vs TAC
This shows, for a given cross-border interconnection point, how much capacity has been booked against the Technical Available Capacity (TAC) — the maximum volume that can physically flow through the pipe.
Choosing a point and direction
At the top of each chart you select:
Point — the border and interconnection point you want to analyse. If a border has several interconnection points or is served by multiple TSOs, you can either pick a specific point or view the whole border aggregated.
Exit/Entry — whether you're looking at the exit or entry side of that point.
Two side-by-side charts
In the terminal, two charts can be displayed, one for each side of the interconnection point. A "Mirror left chart" toggle automatically selects the corresponding point on the other side of the border, so you can compare both sides at once. Turning the toggle off lets you freely pick any other point for the right-hand chart, including one that doesn't correspond to the same border — useful if you want to compare bookings across unrelated points. Switching the Exit/Entry side on the left chart automatically flips the direction shown on the right when the toggle is selected.
Reading the chart
The dashed line is the technical capacity — the physical ceiling for that point.
The bars show how much capacity has been booked in total for that period. Booked volume can exceed the technical capacity line because interruptible capacity is also offered: if firm capacity isn't fully used, interruptible bookings can flow on top of it.
The date range filter lets you choose the window you want to see (with pre-sets or a calendar), and a separate control lets you switch the time granularity of each column between daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
Note that bookings can be made well in advance, so a bar for a given quarter, for example, aggregates all bookings made for that quarter regardless of when the booking itself took place. A booking made at the yearly level applies across all four quarters (and all months) it covers, so it will show up in each of those columns.
Splitting the bars
Each bar can be broken down using the "Split stack by" control, based on:
Runtime — yearly, quarterly, monthly, or daily.
Capacity type — firm or interruptible.
Bundle status — whether the booking combines both entry and exit capacity at a border ("bundled") or only one side ("unbundled").
None (totals only) — if you don't need any breakdown, you can view just the total booked volume per period.
You can also split a single column into multiple bars, using the Split bolumns by filter, which includes:

Interconnection points — where a border has several physical points (e.g. multiple points on the Austria–Germany border), each bar can be split to show the contribution of each point.
TSO — similarly, splits the bar by the transmission system operator involved, where more than one serves the same border.
Additional filters and display options
Runtime and Capacity type filters let you narrow the chart further; runtime is split between daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly, and capacity type is split between backhaul, bFZK, BZK, DZK, firm, FZK, and interruptible. A units toggle switches between absolute volume (GWh) and daily rate (GWh/d). A single-chart view is available for cases (like daily granularity) where the split two-chart layout gets hard to read or isn't necessary — it expands one side of the point to use the full width.
Bundled vs. unbundled bookings
To physically move gas across a border, both the exit booking (on the sending side) and the entry booking (on the receiving side) are needed. When both are purchased together for the same interconnection point, it's a bundled booking. It's also possible to book only one side — an unbundled booking — for example buying just the exit capacity on one side and separately buying entry capacity on the other. Unbundled capacity can also simply be held without being used to move gas — for instance, as a way of controlling access to that capacity rather than transporting anything. Whether a border offers bundled capacity, unbundled capacity, or both depends on the TSOs' own rules and balancing requirements for that border.
Auctions results
This shows the underlying auction-level data that feeds the aggregated chart on the Booked vs TAC tab — one row per auction.
Filters
Date range for the auction period.
Exit and Entry filters (market, TSO, point name, and capacity type).
Bundle filter (all/bundled/unbundled).
Booked > — filters out auctions where nothing was booked (such as a live auction with no interested buyers), or lets you set a minimum booked threshold. These "unbooked" rows are kept in the data because they're informative — they indicate a direction with low demand at that point in time.
Surcharge > — the surcharge is the amount by which an auction's clearing price rose above the starting price due to strong competition for that capacity. This filter helps identify the most contested auctions.
Search by Auction ID or Auction day.
A Prisma/RBP toggle — the two auction platforms currently supported.

Booking patterns
As a general pattern, most volume is booked at the yearly level (cheapest per unit), with progressively smaller volumes booked at quarterly and then monthly level. Daily auctions run every day and mainly fill in remaining gaps for capacity that wasn't secured at longer-term auctions.

Alongside the release of Capacity analytics, our data coverage has been extended as follows:
Finland: data from ENTSOG, ALSI, and Gasgrid Finland sources, providing a consolidated view of Finnish gas supply, cross-border flows, LNG send-out, and demand.

Bulgaria: the outages module now incorporates historical schedules and ongoing updates published by Bulgartransgaz, including information on the duration of maintenance works and their impact on firm and interruptible transmission capacity.
Particular attention is given to Strandzha 2, the interconnection point through which TurkStream gas enters Bulgaria and the EU.
