19 October 2026 Refined Product Inventories API field changes

Written by Teresa Deverill

We are making an update to the Refined Product Inventories API to provide greater transparency into when tank volumes and product allocations are updated.

Currently, the API provides a single update date. However, volume measurements and product allocations are updated independently, using different data sources and methodologies. This enhancement will allow you to distinguish between the two and identify when each was last updated.

What is changing?

Two existing fields will be renamed:

Current field New field

valueDate volumeValueDate

newDataPoint newVolumeDataPoint

Two new fields will also be introduced:

productValueDate : Indicates the date of the latest product allocation update.

newProductDataPoint : Returns true when the product allocation was updated on that date.

Action required

This is a breaking change for integrations using the existing valueDate or newDataPoint fields.

If your integration references either field, you will need to update your field mappings to the new names to ensure continued compatibility.

The two additional product allocation fields are optional and will not affect existing integrations.

These changes took effect on Monday, 19 October.
