1 October 2026 - Dry bulk: additional vessels of 10kt DWT and above added

additional 10kt dwt vessels added for dry bulk fleet

Written by Charles Bozik

Summary

We've added about 1,700 dry cargo vessels of 10kt deadweight (DWT) and above, mostly general cargo vessels, to the platform.

What changed

  • Fleet: about 1,700 previously missing dry cargo vessels (≥10kt DWT) are now on the platform.

  • History: vessel positions and port calls are backfilled to 1 January 2017, consistent with existing vessel history.

Impact on flows

Volumes rise by about 1.7% per month overall, based on point-in-time back-testing across all flows. Major bulk trades (iron ore, grain, etc.) are essentially unchanged. The visible revisions are concentrated in Minor Bulks.

Interpreting revisions

Changes in the flows above reflect more complete vessel coverage, not a data quality issue. If you see a movement in a specific flow and want to confirm it's tied to this release, contact your Customer Success Manager or dry@kpler.com.
